Julie Lerma(1977 - 2014)

Julie Marie (Clem) Lerma

July 23, 1977 - April 8, 2014

Julie Lerma was born on July 23, 1977 with her identical twin sister Jennifer in Salem, Oregon. She attended Riviera Christian, Brush College Elementary, Walker Middle, and North Salem High schools and Chemeketa Community College. Julie led a life of service to others, as a sister, a volunteer at Riviera Baptist Church and Salem Alliance Church, and a loving wife and mother.

Julie's entire life was devoted to her family and to caring for children. She always volunteered, whether at church or at family functions, to babysit the small ones. Her tender and caring manner caused children to come and cling to her. Before she had her own children, Julie proudly worked for Salem surgeon Dr. Peter Bernardo for 12 years. After her children were born, Julie was self-employed, operating in-home businesses and providing child-care. Julie's true passion was her family, including not only her immediate family, but also her extended family.

Julie went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, dying suddenly from an aneurysm on Tuesday, April 8th. She is survived by her husband, Ray Lerma, and their children Luke (8) and Rose (6), and Cheray Lerma (15). Other surviving relatives include: Ellen Marie Pederson (mother), Daniel Clem (father), Ilene Marie Pederson (grandmother), Ken Thompson (grandfather), Pat (Duane) Hunt, Marlene (Tom) Boulanger (in-laws),Randy Thompson, siblings Leif (Aimee) Clem, Jennifer (Brian) McDermitt, Valerie (Kyle) Hibler, Jacqi Clem, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service for Julie will be held at City View Funeral Home on Monday, April 14th at 2 pm. Donations to a fund to assist with the funeral expenses and care for the children can be made to:
