Merle J. Boedigheimer

October 7, 1935 - October 4, 2013

STAYTON - Merle, 77, died October 4, 2013 in Stayton, where he was born and lived all of his life. He served in the US Army Reserves during the Korean War. Merle worked as a boilerman at Norpac Foods in Stayton for 27 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton and Teamsters Local Union #670. Merle enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, trapping, camping, crawdading, huckleberry and mushroom picking, and was an avid sports fan. He married Ruth Dieker on August 25, 1956 in Mt. Angel. Merle is survived by his wife: Ruth Boedigheimer of Stayton; children: Vince (Tami) Boedigheimer of Portland, Loni (Dennis) Lulay of Aumsville, and Julie (Terry) Haskin of Eugene; seven grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by brother, Red and sister, Donna. Vigil service will be Friday, October 11, 2013 at 5:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to Regis/ St. Mary Foundation, Benedictine Sisters of Mt. Angel, or Santiam Memorial Hospital.
