Milton E. Hansen
December 11, 1929 - October 24, 2013
SALEM - Milt Hansen, son of Walter and Ella Hansen, met the Lord on October 24th, 2013, holding the hand of the love of his life, Dorothy Hansen. The previous afternoon, Wednesday, October 23rd, Milt was able to see his children, Dusty and Marge, and grandchildren, Christopher, Dusty, and Julie. Milt leaves behind his two children, three grandchildren, along with a Church and community that adored him. Milt was the man that gave everything and expected nothing in return. He knew that the end was near and he was at peace.
Milt was born December 11, 1929, in Broadmead, a small community southwest of Amity, Oregon. Milt had three brothers and two sisters: Fred, Viola, LeRoy, Robert and Betty. He joined the army
in 1946 and was sent to Berlin, Germany, for 29 months of service. Milt left the army, returned to Oregon, and worked for the US postal service for 26 years. He met Dorothy in 1974 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Salem. Together they created a life surrounded by love, family, fishing, and weekly rounds of golf.
Milt knew that life on this earth was only temporary, and that his true place was with his Lord in Heaven. He succeeded at his two main goals in life; to be loved by his family and to be a faithful servant of the Lord. In his journey, Milt touched countless lives along the way. A memorial service to celebrate Milt's life will be this Saturday, November 2nd, 2 p.m., at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 3295 Ladd Avenue NE, Salem, Oregon.
