February 12, 1937 - April 24, 2014
Motoko Wilson passed away on April 24, 2014 at an age of 77 in her home in Turner, Oregon. A memorial service will be held in July 2014 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon where she will join her husband.
She was born February 12, 1937 at 3-9-4 Minami-Rokugo, Kamata-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
By the age of 4, she moved in with her grandparents in Kyushu Japan. She moved to Tokyo at the age of 16 to attend sewing and cookie schools. Her past time was to help raise her grandchildren, making unique items, cooking, and playing bingo.
Motoko was preceded in death by her parents, Torao & Yoshie Asai Takaba and her husband of 42 years John P. Wilson Sr. of Turner, Oregon. She is survived by her son John P. (Laura) Wilson Jr. and her two grandchildren John P. Wilson III & Jessica M. Wilson of Turner, Oregon. Brother Osamu Takaba of Kohoku-Yokohama, Japan.
She moved to Salem Oregon in 1977 when her husband retired from US Navy. She worked at the Starlight Restaurant in Stayton Oregon in late 70's, and then took a job as a cook with the State at the Fairview Hospital till she retired in 1990. Her legacy is her family. She was strong and worked very hard her entire life, and her family always came first!
