Patrick Byron Thompson
June 2, 1937- January 13, 2013
SALEM - Pat 75 was born in Kalispell, Montana and was the son of Patrick and Minnie Thompson.
Pat had one sister, Jean. Both his parents and sister preceded him in death.
Pat has four sons: Pat and wife Becky with children, stepdaughter Jennifer, Patrick and Jordan; Randy and wife Delaina with children Randy, Megan and Morgan; Rick with children Brianna and Rick; and Ron and wife Annette with their child Jazmine; stepson Arlie Hoefling and wife Jenny with children Darcy, Travis and Wyatt. Pat has one great grandson, Ryon.
Pat started working in the local airport when he was in high school, and after he graduated he went to school as an airline mechanic in California. He was a bush pilot in Alaska, Lear jet pilot and mechanic for Georgia Pacific and Louisiana Pacific in Hillsboro and an Installer and Service Technician for Instant Fire Protection in Salem.
He attended numerous trainings with the NAFED and NFPA on high pressure hydro testing and low pressure testing. He installed fire suppression systems and serviced and recharged fire extinguishers. He also served in the Army
and Army reserves.
He married Mayonne Hoefling in October of 1995 in Salem, Oregon. They shared a love of dancing and golfing. He was always telling jokes and had a good sense of humor. He was a member of the Elks Club
Services are scheduled for Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:30 am at Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn with burial at Belle Passi Cemetery immediately following the service. There will be a public viewing on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 1-5PM at Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
