SALEM - Bob was born in Lewiston, ID to Leonard and Ethel Bowman. He was the youngest of four siblings, Sisters Fawn Olson, Las Vegas, Diane Wilson (Deceased) and Bud Bowman, Spokane, WA, and grew up in Spokane, WA. Bob graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1957. He attended University of Oregon, and was enlisted in the Navy. He was also in the Army & Navy National Guard. After many years of service he retired from Marion County Sheriff's Office as an Institution Deputy in 2003. After retirement he continued working with Pro-Star Security.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving family and friends. His wife of 35 years, LaVonne Mason-Bowman, daughters Renee Adkins, Moscow, ID; Edwina Cunningham, Salem, OR; son Robin Bowman, Costa Rica. Step-sons Shan and Chad Anderson, Salem, OR; 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Bob enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He also liked fishing, jazz music, reading, traveling and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

On December 27, 2012 Bob passed away from heart failure. He passed away surrounded by family. Please join his family in a celebration of life memorial service on February 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Capitol Baptist Church, 3000 Lansing Ave NE, Salem, OR 97031.
