Mary Colson Obituary

Mary M. "Margie" Colson

January 8, 1943 - May 4, 2011

SALEM - God in his infinite mercy permitted Margie Colson to pass peaceful in her sleep on May 4th, 2011, Margie (Mary Margaret Pasternick) was born in Long Beach, Calif., on January 8, 1943.

She is survived by her son Rod, beloved brother Leon Pasternick and their extended families. Some of Margie's many loves and Joys were the Blue waters of the Hawaiian Islands, in which she loved to swim and snorkel and her most grateful of all was the Love of her family her kitties and God.

Margie spent many wonderful years working for Colson & Colson, where she met and married Hugh Colson. They enjoyed many wonderful years together until his death in 2009. Hugh and Margie's joy of giving helped with many causes and charities and was felt and appreciated by many. It is with sadness in our Hearts that we say Goodbye but with thankful hearts to God for letting us know such a beautiful Christian person as Margie. This is not a final Goodbye we just want to say "We will see you in the morning when Jesus awakens you. Rest well Margie It won't be long until morning.

Funeral service will be 2pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at City View Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at City View Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to Mid Willamette Valley Humane Society. Arrangements are by City View Funeral Home

Margie was a delight to work with. She was always positive, cheerful, upbeat, and encouraging when I called her regarding one of the buildings we were responsible for. I could always count on that beautiful smile when I saw her later at company functions. I look forward to seeing her at "That Great Gettin' Up Morning."

Dear Terry and Rod,
I am so very sorry to hear the news of your Mom passing. Just today I was talking to a friend about this most wonderful client I used to have; how she was a joy to work with out in the garden and how much she enjoyed nature. Little did I know this would be the same day I would find out that my most wonderful client, Margie, passed away. She was a lady of grace and tender kindness with a beautiful soul, and she will be missed by many, many people. May God bless you and your family and may you be surrounded in love from memories of your Mom.

Dear Rod and Terry

I only met your mom a few times but she had a great smile and kindness about her. May the many wonderful memories you shared with her bring comfort and peace to your family.

Margie was one of "my girls" at Laurelwood. I remember her with fondness and inspiration. She was always smiling, friendly--a sweet girl.

Knew her from childhood in Hood River. Had the opportunity to serve as her pastor in Salem. With a friend like Margie we can say more than goodbye but also see you soon!

I first met Margie in College Place WA when we were very young girls, and then again at Laurelwood Academy. She was always so much fun and such a lady and I can't believe she's gone. She was so vital and alive when I saw her recently at a LA reunion. I'm happy for the memories, and I will miss her so much. Rod and Roy, my sorrowful condolences. Sandy Monroe Farmer
