Edward Keith Heiner

June 3, 1927 - June 21, 2013

STAYTON - Keith, 86, died Friday in Stayton. He was born in Oakley, ID. to Mildred Lucille (Richins) and Orville Heiner. Keith served in the Navy Reserve, joining right out of high school at age 17. When the war ended, he returned to Idaho where he married his high school sweetheart, Zina Larson on December 18, 1946 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. Keith and Zina lived in St. George, UT. for 20 years as they watched their childrens' families grow. In 2009 they moved to Oregon to be near family who could help care for them. Keith and Zina celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in 2010, shortly before Zina passed away. Keith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Stayton Ward, and had formerly served as a Bishop, as well as many other callings within the church. He is survived by children: Patricia (Andrew) Hilverda of Aumsville, Debra Heiner of Logan, UT., and Todd (Janet) Heiner of Centerville, UT.; brother: Robert Heiner of Salt Lake City, UT.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Keith was the fifth of seven children and was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. He was loved by his family and friends, and was known as a kind and humble man. Even through his recent illness, he always had a smile on his face, never complaining, always thanking those around him. Services will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Stayton Ward. Interment will be next to Zina in Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to the Missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
