Ernest Carlson March 7, 1926 - March 1, 2010 KEIZER - Ernest Carlson passed away March 1, 2010. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and was an inspiration to all the met him and had the opportunity to sit and visit with him. Ernie married Margaret Parker in 1958. They were married just shy of 52 years at his passing. Ernie was the outstanding father to seven children, grandfather to 12 and great-grandfather to 5.. Ernie served in the Navy with tours in the Phillippines and Australia during World War II. He was a certified master mechanic for many years and realized his dream in 1974 when he became the proud owner of his 18-wheeler as an owner operator. Ernie was a loving husband, a terrific father, a doting grandfather and a friend to many. He didn't judge, he didn't lecture, he did listen. His legacy lives on with his family. We know he is in a better place and no longer is suffering which is God's blessing. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carlson of Keizer, Ore.; Sons, Paul (Melanie) Carlson, William (Kim) Carlson, Tom Carlson, Patrick (Cindy) Carlson; daughters, Cathleen (Roger) Twitty, Amanda (Roy) Jones, Dawn (Nellan) Govender; grandchildren, Glen Carlson, Tammy Hesrud, Joe Becker, Christian Carlson, Christopher Twitty, Matthew Carlson, Kaitlin Carlson, Kelsey Jones, Mark Jones, Kayleigh Carlson, McKayla Carlson, Sarah Carlson, Ruth Carlson; Great-Grandchildren, Courtney Marie Becker, Paul Becker, Jamie Hesrud, Elijah Twitty, Blaine Reeves. Preceded in death by Parents; Sister, Mildred Wolf. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Silverton. Interment at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery.
