SALEM - Gene Royston Lloyd Isaacs passed away at the age of 96 on August 16, 2013. She was born in Hunter, Missouri on February 22, 1917, and spent her early years growing up in Winona, Missouri.
After a short stay in Wisconsin doing secretarial work, she met her future husband, 1st Sergeant Lenford Isaacs, whom she married on June 19, 1943. Following Len's discharge from the army at the end of the war and a short stay in Los Angeles, Gene and Len moved to Salem, Oregon. She was a loving mother for 66 years, raising three children. Gene also worked in various positions with the State of Oregon. She then worked for Marion County School District at Liberty Grade School until her retirement in 1979. She always gave everything she had to her family and work.
Gene and Len remained residents of Salem, but enjoyed travel and visits with their grandchildren while retired. Gene is survived by her daughters, Sally and Gena; her granddaughter, Priscilla Fender and her husband Kameron and great grandson Isaac; and her grandson, Judah Schotthoefer.
Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
