James William Polley
October 14, 1922 - March 19, 2013
SALEM - James W. Polley (Jim) was called home to be with our Lord at age 90.
Jim entered this world on October 14, 1922 in Milliken, Colorado, born to Charles and Essie Polley.
Jim graduated from Milliken High School, then joined the U.S. Navy in WWII to serve our country, earning 4 prestigious medals.
Jim met & married Mabel Lawson, his loving and devoted bride of 67 years, making their home together with their two sons in Salem, Oregon.
Jim worked for The State of Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, retiring after 35 years.
In Jim's younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. Later, Jim played golf and played Bridge, earning the esteemed title of "Bronze Life Master". Jim expressed his creativity through the "Garden Club".
Jim's sons; David Polley (Cheryl), Pete (James) Polley (deceased)(Terrie), 4 precious Grandchildren - Jennifer, James, Mardelle and Eric, 5 Step-Grandchildren - Shannon, Kristy, Angie, Justin, Travis; 6 delightful Great Grandchildren, and 5 Step-Great Grandchildren.
In addition, Jim leaves behind his sister, Lois in Colorado and all who knew and loved this soft-spoken, gentle, kind, caring, wonderful, cherished, Husband, Father, Grandfather and dear friend.
So, Pop, until we meet again - you are deeply loved and will be missed greatly.
Services: Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00 PM, Salem First Christian Church, 685 Marion St NE, Salem OR 97301.
