Jesse Grimes Obituary
Jesse Austin Grimes

February 2, 1978 - April 5, 2012

SALEM - Jesse was born to Kent and Kathleen Grimes at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. The family made a permanent move to Salem, OR when Jesse was two months old. When Jesse was young, he discovered his two biggest loves in life: Punk Rock and Skateboarding. He played bass in local bands, including Underage and The Belligerents. He started his cooking career at Willamette University, and over the years became a chef in many Portland and Salem restaurants. He loved to cook for family and friends, and BBQ was his specialty. He was artistic, creating record covers and t-shirts to support his bands as well as for others.

Our family is comforted in knowing that Jesse is with his fiancé Chayla Wilson, as well as his uncle Timothy and cousins Patrick and Jeremy Kelley. His aunt Doylene Kramp and grandmother Martha Griffin also proceeded him in death. He is survived by his parents, his sister Kelli, brothers Matthew and Aaron and their wives Mariah and Charlotte, his grandparents Don and Gean Kelley, his nephews Gavin, Aidan and Jimi, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all loved him. He had a large group of friends, both in Portland and Salem, who will miss him, including his "twin brother" Lance Shaima.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 am at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. If you want to help the family with the funeral costs, donations can be made at any U.S. Bank to the Jesse Grimes Memorial Fund.
