SALEM - Kalosi Manu was called home to family and loved ones on Friday Oct 18. He is survived by his eternal companion of 48 years Aveolela, 6 kids and 15 grandkids. Wanda (Lou), Wayne (Margaret), Isaac, Amelia, Ewan, Tagaloa (Brenda), Hayden, Harrison, Halei, and Tagaloa Jr., Karen, Mark, Elaine, Mark Jr., Lorenzo, Lupelele, and Dana, Janice (Ricky), Darien, Nicole, and Zoe . He was born September 3, 1932 in Mapusaga, American Samoa. He served a church mission in 1954 in Upolu, Western Samoa. He lived in Hawaii where he enlisted in the US Army and met his wife, marrying on March 27, 1965 in the Laie Hawaii LDS temple for all time and eternity. He was a decorated soldier with various medals and citations, serving in the US Army for 20 years. Upon retiring from the military, he moved his family to Compton, CA, where he attended Compton Community College earning his Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts. He held various callings in church throughout the years, serving faithfully in all that was asked of him, also living in Paramount and Long Beach. In 1995, he moved to Salem, OR where he enjoyed his position serving at the LDS Portland OR. Temple. He enjoyed the McDonalds scene, his Los Angeles Lakers and professional wrestling. Most of all he enjoyed living near and spending time with his children especially his grandchildren, and his eternal companion, his "sunshine". His family would like to thank The Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland for taking great care of our father and also a thank you to Virgil T. Golden Funeral Home for providing their services. Dad will be best remembered for putting his family first and his dedication to the gospel. Services will be held Friday, October 25 at the LDS Stake Center building at 4550 Lone Oak Rd, Salem, OR. Family Services at 9-12pm, viewing at 12:00-12:45pm, 1-2:00pm church service. Burial service to immediately follow at Belcrest Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
