No one I know had more passion for the legacy of the SR-71 Blackbird program than Leland, which is why I elected to create a page on facebook for the Lockheed SR-71A Blackbird to celebrate the legacy of Clarence "Kelly" Johnson as well...God Bless and Blue Skies Leland.

LELAND RIP MY FRIEND - as we have communicated over the years your dedication of professionalism to the SR-71 Program is your great pride and we shared that pride together on 13 Sep 1974 when you were the last person to shake my hand, pat me on the back, and close the cockpit canopy of #972 for the World Record Speed Run London to Los Angeles.
We shared that special occasion and it is neat to be able to call you my friend - you did it Leland and you can be proud of what you did in your life and how you touched others thru your dedication. THANK YOU----
