SILVERTON - LeRoy Evan Beals passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2012. First-born son to the late John and Eunice Beals, LeRoy was born on March 17, 1928, in Gervaris, Oregon. He graduated from Silverton Union High School in 1946. He served in the combat zone of the Korean War as a tractor-scraper operator with the 74th engineer heavy equipment.
On February 27, 1954, LeRoy married Pauline Weis, (of Mt. Angel), and they had 4 children: two sons and two daughters. For 30 years, LeRoy worked as a plumber for Judson Plumbing. After leaving that job, he went into business for himself building duplexes and farming.
An especially caring father, he was a great role model and provider to his children. To his friends - he was more than a sincere and honest person - he was the world. All learned so much from simply just watching him and they felt the impact of his caring and helping.
His memory is cherished by Pauline, his wife of 58 years; his sons, Larry and John; his daughters, Donna and Diane; his grandchildren, Sierra and Abraham; his brother, Bruce Beals; his sister, Sharon Vanloan; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
LeRoy Beals will always be remembered as a loving and affectionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
In lieu of a service, a viewing will be held on Friday, November 2nd, 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Unger Funeral Chapel, 229 Mill Street, Silverton.
