SALEM - Mark Joel Bullington, "Flamango" 56, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 14, 2012, in Orlando, FL.

Mark was born on November 7, 1955, in Seattle, WA, to Eugene and Adeline (Butler), one of two sons. He grew up in the tri-cities area, attending Kennewick schools. He graduated from Kamiakin High School in 1973, and was the original mascot of the Braves. Following high school, Mark joined the navy and spent 4 years working at the Naval Air Station of Whidbey Island.

Following his Navy service, Mark went to work for Boeing for 19 years prior to his move to Oregon, where he continued his work as an Equine Announcer. He traveled as an announcer throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Announcing the American Miniature Horse Registry Nationals, since 1999. The Shetland Pony Congress for 11 years. The Oregon State Fair for 9 years. He traveled and worked as the "Voice of the Equine Industry" for over 30 years combined.

Mark was known for his wild, wicked sense of humor, always giving great relief to those who knew him. Mark always seemed to know the right things to say at the right time, and always had a great sense of spirit and character. He shared amazing relationships with his close friends, who always remained family rather than friends. He could put anyone at ease, and was known to play "Name That Tune" with friends, as he loved music and had an interest in eclectic bands and songs. In addition to his love of music, Mark enjoyed aviation, golf and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
