Maurice (Morris) David Janes

Morris passed away on Saturday May 31st in Keizer Or. Morris was born to Ora C. Janes and Ella White on December 13th, 1921 in Grandview Wa. In 1933 he moved from Coos Bay to Salem,OR. Morris enlisted in the U.S. Army January 1st,1942; serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He returned home December 6th 1945. Morris returned to Germany in 1949 to marry his sweetheart Charlotte Johanna Hus in Munchen. They made their home in Keizer, OR. Morris became head electrician for Agripac Cannery. In 1951 they had their only child,a son Stephen (Steve). After his birth Charlotte was stricken with M.S. and Morris cared for Charlotte and raised Steve after spending over 30 years at Apripac. He retired in his early 60's to care for Charlotte. She passed away in 1984. In 2007 Steve was killed in a car accident. Morris loved his family, friends and animals. He spent lots of time fishing, gardening, picking berries, and garage sales. His faith in the Lord was strong and he found great comfort in knowing that he would be reunited with his Loved ones. He was a kind sweet man and loved by everyone. "We will miss him". Morris is survived by; former daughter in law Carole France Janes. Extended family; Linda France Martin (Kermit). Cheryl France Petty (Harvey). Colette Livengood. Nephews; Gary, Stan, Tom, Sherman, and Forest Janes. Niece; Cheryl Winn and many great nieces and nephews. Special Friends he loved, Sheba Wooddell, Jo Jo Waggoner, the Wolfert family, and the Blair family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Charlotte; Parents; two brothers, Harold and Leslie; his son, Stephen; Nieces, Pam Janes, and Sally Bennett. The family would like to express special thanks to Valley View Manor II Adult Foster Care Home, where he lived for the last 15 months, Joe Hammer for his dentures, Lorrie J. James for his hearing aids, and also Keizer (Avamere) "Where the old guys rule". A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Claggett Cemetery, with Chaplain Sheba Dawn Wooddell officiating. Arrangements by Keizer Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services.

The Wolfert family will miss "Papa Morris" very much. None of us will ever eat an ear of corn without thinking of our sweet and generous neighbor. We love you.
