Norman Murray Arrowsmith Sr

SALEM - Norman Murray Arrowsmith, Sr. was born April 19, 1923 in Hanford, Calif. and died June 16, 2007 in Portland, Ore. Norm was a resident of Salem since 1970. He served his country proudly as an officer, performing flight navigator and instructor duties in the Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. Graduating from the University of Southern California with a B.S. (Summa Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering, he worked in private business until 1970 when he became a public utilities assessor for the Oregon Dept. of Revenue. After retiring in 1985, he loved to travel, especially to find new information for his interest in genealogy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Frances Houghton Arrowsmith. He is survived by his sons Norman Arrowsmith, Jr. of Olympia, Wash., Curt Arrowsmith of Hood River, Joel Arrowsmith of Portland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.No services, by request of the decedent.
