Ronald Harold Burrell
April 15, 1939 - March 25, 2013
SALEM - Ronald H. Burrell was born April 15, 1939 in Middle River, Minnesota. Known as "Butch" growing up, Ron was raised on the family farm in Minnesota. He left the farm to join the Navy, which brought him to the west coast where he met Beverly, his wife of over 50 years. Ron's passion for hunting and fishing were well known among his family and friends. He enjoyed watching birds and animals although his life. Ron worked in construction and with heavy machinery for many years until he became disabled. Battling chronic illness for several years, Ron died peacefully on March 25. He will be missed.
Ron is survived by his brother (Conrad Burrell of Middle River, Minnesota), his daughters (Teresa Hughes, Tami Burrell, and Loni Murphy) of Salem, his grandchildren (Travis Burrell of Independence, Sarah Sullivan of Tangent, Brandon Burrell, Shawnee Caldwell, and Jerican Murphy of Salem), as well as several great grandchildren. Ron is preceded in death by his wife (Beverly), his grandson (Justin) and his sister (Nita).
Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Friday, April 5th at 3 p.m.. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at the family home on the evening of April 5th. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Salem.
