Sanford Charles (Butch) Risseeuw

August 6, 1922 - February 22, 2013

Sanford Charles (Butch) Risseeuw age 90 of Willamina, OR died Friday Feb. 22nd. at home.

He was born 8/6/1922 in Crookston, NB. to William and Winnie (Schryders) Risseeuw. He and his family moved to Oregon from South Dakota in 1937. While still in high school he joined the USN serving from 1942/1946. Butch married Maxine Huddleston in April of 1946 and they had 4 children, Stephen, Denise, Susan and Dan. He later married Jean Samuelson on 11/18/1960 and they were married for 52 years.

Butch drove log truck for Littlejohn Logging until he retired. He was the Exalted Ruler of The Elks Lodge in McMinnville from 1980 to 1981.

He enjoyed working in his yard with his wife, sitting on his deck in the sun watching his Koi and playing with his dogs. He also enjoyed all of his family.

He is survived by his wife Jean, daughters Denise (Karl) Meier of Jewell, OR. Susan (Robert) Coulter of Cove, OR and his son Dan (Julie) Palm of Pendleton. His brothers Vern (Ellen) Risseeuw, Bob (Marilyn) Risseeuw of La Pine, OR. Lonnie (Liz) Risseeuw of Roseburg, OR. His sister Jane Buswell of Dallas, OR., Vivian (Norm) St. Germaine of Springfield, OR. 6 grandchildren, Kyle, Matt, Tim and Amber Meier, Leah Lester and Brice Palm and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Stephen, his parents, Bill and Winnie, brothers Bill and Ike, sister Marie Smith and grandson Scott Coulter.

Services will be held Thursday Feb. 28th, Video History starting at 10:30 AM with services starting at 11 AM at Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home with Vault Interment in Green Crest Memorial Park.
