WOODBURN - Virginia Ellen Wooster Fowler joined her husband, Floyd Ray Fowler, in heaven on March 14, 2013. She was born in Chehalis, WA on October 29, 1926 to parents, Daniel Allen and Ida Rose (Shannett) Wooster. She graduated from PeEll High School on May 29, 1945. On September 1, 1943 Floyd Fowler proposed to her when he was home on leave from World War II. They married on July 9, 1945. Floyd preceded her in death on August 24, 1994. She grew up in Dryad, WA and in the early fifties they moved to Oregon where they resided in Lincoln City for many years. In 1975 they moved to Salem and in 2004 she moved to Woodburn.
She was member of Peoples Church and her hobbies included tending to her flower garden, crocheting, bingo and going to the beach.
She is survived by: her children, Edward F. Fowler and wife Lorraine of Tacoma, WA, Geraldine E. Dodson and husband Bob of Salem and David K. Fowler and wife Rhonda of Salem; 14 grandkids; 26 great grandkids; 9 great great grandkids; brother, D. Perry Wooster of Chehalis, WA; sisters, Lillian Howard of Aberdeen, WA and Lois Karboski of Castle Rock, WA. She was preceded in death by her brother Rodney Wooster.
The family would like to thank the staff at Emerald Gardens in Woodburn for their excellent care. Virginia made many friends there and stayed happy, active and productive. They would also like to thank the staff at Silverton Hospital who were so caring and helpful and enabled her to keep that big smile right up to the end.
Visitation will be Sunday and Monday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and the service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 all at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. Interment will be private at Willamette National Cemetery.
