William (Bill) Daum

William John Daum, 63 of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, died suddenly on July 6, 2013. He was born in Portland, Oregon, August 9, 1949. Bill was a Vietnam Army Veteran, a 1967 graduate of McNary High School, and the Ron Bailie School of Broadcasting. He worked the majority of his life as a civilian employee of the Department of Defense in California. He moved to Hawaii in 2005, settling in Kona where he worked for Homeland Security as a TSA Screener, then in private security before retiring in 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles W. and Ruth Daum. He is survived by his sister, Linda Wilson of Bolingbrook, Illinois and many friends. He loved all his dogs, cooking for friends, and making jewelry. Burial services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday July 12, 2013, at the West Hawaii Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors.
