SALEM - Lois Eileen Anderson, 85, of Salem, OR passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012. She was born September 24, 1927 to Thomas B. Hill Sr. and Pearl May McKenzie. Her beloved husband, William Lester Anderson Sr., brothers Thomas B. Hill Jr. and William F. Hill, sister Marjorie A. McElhinny, and her son William Lester Anderson Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Kelly S. Anderson, grandsons William A. Anderson and Andy Valentin Aguilera-Anderson, granddaughters Jennifer A. Babine, Tracy A. Anderson, Adriana Lisa Corona Aguilera-Anderson, and Stefani Lidia Layne Aguilera-Anderson, great grandsons Riley A. Hernandez and Sean W. Babine, great granddaughters Hailey R. Hernandez, Christen J. Babine, and Elizabeth E. Anderson.
Lois was born, raised and lived in Salem, OR all of her life. Her parents owned Hill's Restaurant and Candy Shop, where she spent much of her childhood. After graduating from Salem High School in 1945, she married her high school sweetheart and had two children. Lois was a devoted, generous, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her quick wit, was an incredible storyteller, had a bright colorful soul on the inside and out, and had a real zest for life. Lois loved to laugh, dance, and spend time with family and friends, whom she fiercely loved. She was a homemaker and also enjoyed working part time at the Salem Public Library. Lois was an amazing person who will be missed immensely by all that knew and loved her.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lois' name to the Anderson family to be applied towards funeral expenses.
Lois was indeed a very special lady, and we shall remember her and celebrate her life on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Virgil T Golden Funeral Service, interment to follow at Belcrest Memorial Park. Viewing/visiting schedule is November 4, 2012 from 1 pm to 4 pm and November 5, 2012 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Virgil T. Golden Funeral service.
