ANNA MARIE (HART) HANSEN|
January 11, 1921 - February 1, 2014
Anna Marie (Hart) Hansen joined us on this earth January 11, 1921 in Beulah, North Dakota as one of ten children to Conrad and Minnie Hart.
Anna graduated from N. Salem High School in 1940. Anna went on to graduate in 1944 from N.W. Bible Institute in Seattle, Washington. Shortly after she was hired by the Telephone Company as a telephone operator in Salem. On July 7, 1946, she married John Hansen of Salem, Oregon, who was employed by the Statesman Journal as field manager for the Circulation Department until he was transferred to the Woodburn area in February, 1959. Less than 2 months later, John died of a heart attack on April 4, 1959. In June, 1959, Anna and the boys moved back to Salem to their small farm where she raised her 4 boys. She then went to work at a local cannery until she retired in 1983. She then made 3 trips to Norway to visit her oldest son, Tom, and family. She included several trips to her son, Roger, and family to Redding California. Her two sons, Jay and family along with Ron & his wife live in the local area and visited her often.
Due to failing health, it became necessary for Anna to leave her farm and continue living in various retirement facilities to obtain the daily care she needed. She received excellent care at The Villas in McMinnville for several years.
Anna left us surrounded by her family on February 1, 2014 at the age of 93 in McMinnville, Oregon.
She is survived by her son, Thomas (Elsebeth) Hansen in Norway; Roger (Judy) Hansen, Redding, CA; Jay (Marsha) Hansen; Salem, OR; Ron (Bernadette) Hansen, McMinnville, OR. Grandchildren: Kim and Shiela Hansen: Jonathan and Michael Hansen; Adam Hansen and one great grandchild, Anton Hansen. Sisters Esther Loewen, Lorraine Carper, Ruth Smith. Her brothers; Robert Hart, and Donald Hart. Proceeded in death by her husband, John Hansen; her parents Conrad and Minnie Hart; her brother, Reinhold Hart; her sisters, Pauline Smith; Freda Seiber and Hilda Hart.
Visitation will be held on February 7 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A Memorial Service will held at 1:30pm at Howell Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
