Richard (Rick) F. Harvey

March 24, 1947 - February 15, 2014

Rick was born in Silverton Oregon the 3rd of 7 children to Cecil and Ether (Austin) Harvey. He attended Gervais Grade School and Gervais High School graduating in 1965. Soon after he was sent a special delivery letter from Uncle Sam requesting his presence in the Army. He was stationed in California and spend a year in View Nam. After his return he went to Portland Community College and received an associates degree in Criminal Justice, however he ended up welding for approximately 30 years. He married Cherrie Phillips and together they had Gretchen Ann and Scott Philip. In 1987 he married Kathi Keeland in Reno Nevada and they were together for the next 26 years.

Of all the jobs Rick had he always said he favorite job was being a driver for Cherriotts from which he retired in 2012.

Rick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2013 and finally it got the best of him despite all the surgeries and chemotherapy treatments.

Rick is survived by his wife Kathi, daughter Gretchen (Mike) Cunningham of Alameda, California, son Scott Harvey of Portland, brothers Ron Harvey of Big Bear California, John (Linda) Harvey of Gervais, Steve Harvey, Gervais, Phil (Kathy) Harvey of Woodburn, sister Sue (Rod) Miller of Gervais and numerous nieces and newphews. He is also survivied by his inlaws Chuck and Connie Craig of Gervias and brother, sister in law, and niece Rick, Lyn, and Kristen Craig of Phoenix Arizona.

Rick is proceeded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ethel Harvey and brother Bob Harvey.

Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetary on Monday, February 24th at 2:00.
