Gary McIlnay Obituary
Gary Lee McIlnay

March 29, 1940 - March 2, 2014

Born in Crete, Nebraska to Jess and Eleanor McIlnay, who relocated shortly there after to Salem, Oregon. He graduated from South Salem High School in 1958 and continued on to attend Oregon State University.

He married his High School Sweetheart Ladell Anderson in 1959 and they celebrated the births of three children; Lance, Lorette, and Leslie.

He started his business career as a department manager for the JC Penney Company and then on to partner with his father- in- law at his already successful floral business to establish Anderson McIlnay Florist in 1967. Gary and Ladell worked together in their family floral business and enjoyed all the wonderful relationships they have built with their customers and suppliers over the years. His artistic ability showed through in all he did in work and hobbies.

He enjoyed his family, and was always there for them during times of happiness & laughter and times of strife and struggle. His love and caring will be missed by all and carried in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Ladell; Son Lance and his wife Wendy; Daughter Lorette Severson and her husband Ron; and youngest Son Leslie and his Wife Tonie.

His Grandchildren: Brandon, Corey, Bryce, Mason, & Chad McIlnay; Cuyler & Quinlan Stuwe; Riley Severson; Brittney & Loren Paulson; Matt LaFon; Felisha & Brandon Biehn; Miranda Smith; and Christine Maxfield. His Great Grandchildren: Emily Stuwe and Aydin Biehn. His Brother Ron and his wife Anne and his children Tresa, Brian and Steve.

Visitation will be from 3 pm- 5 pm Saturday with a Celebration of Life on Sunday at 3 pm at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
