Carol Patricia (Patty) Myers|
February 2, 1929 - May 12, 2014
Patty was born in Havre, Montana to Charles and Leila Caughren. Her family moved to Lebanon, Oregon when she was16 where she graduated from high school in 1947.
Patty went on to study nursing at Emanual Hospital in Portland for three years. She met and married Ray S. Myers while they were both working at the State Hospital here in Salem. They would have celebrated 64 years together in October.
Patty was proceded in death by her eldest daughter, Rene Lynn (1962) and her sister Genevieve (2009)
She is survived by her loving husband, Ray who cared for her for the past six years following a debilitating stroke. Also by her four children, Carla (Allen) Chase, Barbara Frels, Chuck (Ricki) Myers, and Raymond (Carol) L. Myers, eight grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Patty practiced nursing for many years here in Salem. She was an adventurous traveler and outdoor enthusiast. As a young girl in Havre, her family spent the summer camping and fishing along Beaver Creek, south of Havre. She did extensive traveling, hiking and canoeing with her family until the stroke that took her speech and mobility but not her ability to laugh at a silly joke.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who will be missed a great deal. Her family will plan a celebration of her life at a later date.
