Frances Day Obituary
Frances Maxine Day

July 1, 1922 - May 17, 2014

SALEM - Frances was born in Tacoma, Washington. She was the eldest daughter of Frank and Wilma Gillaspy. Growing up she lived in many places on the west coast, finally settling in Grants Pass, Oregon where she met and married John William Day, who preceded her in death, after 62 years of marriage. They moved to Salem when their children were young. Her greatest love in life other than her family was traveling and camping. She loved to paint and was a very good artist.

She is survived by her brother William Gillaspy; her daughters Suzanne Dickey (Alan), Mary Petersen (Stephen), grandchildren Serena and Leslie Petersen, great-grandchildren Sky, Emalyn, Masen and Myles and great-great-granddaughter True. She was preceded in death by her husband John, son William and sister Beryl Nelson.

Services will be a private graveside service at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Willamette Valley Hospice or Willamette Humane Society.

The family would like to thank Regency Woodland Care Facility for the wonderful care that our mother received. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
