Michael D. Alexander passed away suddenly on May 29, 2014 at the age of 55. Mike was born December 18, 1958 in Woodburn, Oregon to Richard and Carol Alexander. Mike had two siblings, Steve and Terrie (Bernier). As a youth in Woodburn and Silverton, Mike enjoyed being a free range child with his siblings and cousins. He had many hobbies that developed in childhood that he continued on into adulthood. These included fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, canning and many more.
In 1977 he met Marianne Piper at McNary High School. They dated three years and married in 1980. They had two children, Zack and Kellie. Mike later became a plumber and part owner in Pat's Plumbing. Mike had a love for children and he showed it by introducing kids to the outdoors. Mike was actively involved in both men's and children's ministries at Grace Community Church. In Mike's short life, he lived a full life, reaching out to many, sharing his warm smile, stories of his outdoor adventures and love of people.
There will be a celebration of life held at Grace Community Church at 4105 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem, Oregon on Saturday, June 7 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund at Pioneer Trust Bank in Salem under the name The Michael Alexander Fund. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
