Adele C. Zandol, 99, a resident of Dallas died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in the Dallas Retirement Health Center. She was born on October 4, 1914 in Portland, Oregon the daughter of Gustav C. and Anna Kandel Jahn. She grew up on a farm with five siblings where she developed her love of nature and horseback riding. On March 20, 1943, she married Tony A. Zandol in Colnar, Maryland and moved to Dallas the following year. Adele was a creative homemaker who loved reading, gardening, hiking, sewing, cooking, singing and painting. She instilled a love of art and nature to many of her family members. She was active in the Delbert Hunter Arboretum for many years. In 1948, she joined the First Presbyterian Church where she became involved in teaching, women's groups and the work of the church. In her 80's, she and her husband Tony joined the World Gym where they were the oldest members. She loved holidays and family celebrations where she could cook and bake for her family.
She is survived by her daughter Francie Zandol and sons Tony Zandol, Jr. and Ken Zandol, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
