Sandra Krueger Obituary
Sandra M. "Westgaard" Krueger

June 10, 1949 - June 15, 2014

Sandy lost her brave battle with cancer on June 15. She was born in Richland, Washington to John Westgaard and Gloria Eberth, June 10, 1949. She grew up in Ashland, OR, the middle of three sisters and graduated from Ashland High. She graduated from SOU in 1969 and then married Jim Krueger in June of 1969. They moved to Salem in 1982, due to Jim's job on the railroad. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, with family being her biggest priority. Among many other things, she was a Girl Scout leader, a room-mother for her children's school, and a Eucharistic minister for her parish. She worked as an office manager for a dental practice for many years and retired 4 years ago.

She loved reading, gardening and working in her beautiful yard. She enjoyed feeding and watching the menagerie of birds that came year-round to nest and raise their young. Camping with friends and family was one of the joys of her life. Jim and Sandy especially enjoyed taking their grandson, Silas, camping at the coast every summer. Sandy was active in her church, Queen of Peace, as well as a volunteer for Salem Hospital. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing many things, especially for the children at the hospital.

She is remembered most for her loving and caring heart and her kindness and compassion towards all. We will always remember her beautiful smile and the way she touched everyone's heart. She is now an angel amongst angels.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Delores. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim, and her daughter, Kelly, and son, Aaron. She is also survived by one sister, Christine, 9 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews and one grandson. She was loved and adored by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Life to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salem Cancer Institute. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
