Thelma Mary Bowlin

May 22, 1911 - June 17, 2014

Thelma Mary Bowlin age 103 passed away peacefully on June 17 in San Carlos Mexico, were she was residing with her son Jim and wife Kathie for the last 3yrs.

She was born on May 22, 1911 in Dearborn, Missouri to Margaret and John Berry. She attend all grades of school in Grower, Missouri. She married James L. Bowlin Sr. on February 5, 1936 in Missouri and in 1951 she and Jim moved to Salem. They lived on Evergreen St and Elderberry and the last 23 years at McNary Estates in Keizer.

She was a life master duplicate bridge player at Salem Bridge Center, she played up til she was 98 when she lost her vision. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Salem. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain family and friends at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2000 and. two brothers Ronald and Raymond Berry. She is survived by her son James Bowlin Jr and wife Kathie, two grandsons James Bowlin III and wife Lisa of Bend, Or and Corey Bowlin of Philadelphia, PA , three great grandchildren, James L. Bowlin IV, and Alex Bowlin and Allie Bowlin all of Bend, Or.

Special thanks and love to Silva Salida for her wonderful care of Thelma the last 3 years. Thelma will be missed for her wonderful ways of loving family and friends. There will be a private family memorial later this summer at Mt. Crest Abbey Mausoleum in Salem, Or. Assisting the family Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
