Joseph "Joe" John Linn Jr.
December 17, 1942 - August 6, 2014
Joe Linn Jr., 71, of Salem died Aug. 6 in Salem at his home after a battle with leukemia. He was born in Salem and spent most of his life there with the exception of serving his country as a United States Marine from 1958 - 1963.
Joe married his wife of 39 years, Mary "Becki" Ledford, in Reno Nevada on April 5, 1975 and became a family with Becki's children Todd and Shannon. From this union there are 6 grandchildren: Jeff, Krystal, Donald, David, Mo and Morgan and 19 great-grandchildren.
Joe was a life member of the Independence Elks, joining in April 1977, and held many leadership positions over the years. He was also a long time member of the Salem Eagles and the Willamette Anglers Club. Joe and Becki both worked for Mead Products in Salem until they closed the plant, Joe having put in 42 years. Joe enjoyed elk hunting, gold panning and trap shooting but his true passion was fishing.
Private services will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
