John L. Patterson Oct. 17, 1938 - Oct. 27, 2010 SILVERTON, Ore. - John passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, just after celebrating his 72nd birthday with family. He fought a long, hard battle with the ravages of Parkinson's disease and related difficulties. He grew up in Merced, California, then worked as a Traffic Signal Electrician for 10 years for the City of Beverly Hills before coming to Silverton in 1979 and establishing Patterson Electric Co. Work and hobbies were his ruling passion; fellow tradesmen and customers were his social network; and family was his safety net for protection from the rest of the world. His lasting legacies to his children are "Do it right the first time", and "Always go the extra mile". He leaves behind his wife, Sandi; daughters, Janet Marsolf and Deede Williams; son, Jamie; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date.
