Carl Tiede Obituary
November 27, 1916 - January 24, 2012
ALBANY -Born to Emanuel Tiede and Magdaline Koenig in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, Carl had a sister named Ruby who passed away years ago, and a brother Elbert Tiede (Wife Ruth) now residing in Bakersfield, California.
His survivors include nephew Oren C. Neutz of Lake Forest, Ca. (wife Jan) and Gordon Winter (wife Barbara) of Medford, Oregon as well as numerous nephews and nieces throughout the United States.
He was married for 65 years to Linda (Schimke) Tiede who passed away April 9, 2007. Carl and Linda never had any children of their own but they were very close to all of their many nieces and nephews.
Carl loved music and always sang in a men's Gospel Quartet and led the singing in his Sunday School groups. They were members of First Baptist Church of Salem for many years.
In the early 1940's, Carl and his brother and 2 cousins traveled around South Dakota singing at church's and at political rallies as "The Tiede Quartet."
Carl worked during the war in the Naval ship yards in Long Beach, California as a welder. He was one of the few welders who could weld overhead, upside-down. That was a very specialized talent in those days. Carl also worked for many years in construction in Southern California as a carpenter.
Carl was always very kind, very funny, and very feisty! He loved and served the Lord his entire life and he and his precious wife Linda had 65 wonderful years of marriage before she was called home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31st at 1:00pm at Howell Edwards Doerksen Funeral Home. Interment at City View Cemetery.

I can remember when Carl worked for my dad in the late 40's through the 50's. We all went to the same little Baptist church in Inglewood.
