The Guest Book is expired.
1927 - 2012
Albert was born at home May 28, 1927 to Antonio Albertini & Domenica Scalvini-Albertini at the family dairy in Fleener Gulch near Ferndale, CA. This was his home until 1945 when he graduated from Ferndale Union High School and was inducted into the Army Air Corps. His childhood home is still owned by a family member.
In 1950 Al married Donna Marks. One year later they purchased a dairy operation in Ferndale. This was their home and business until they moved in 1965 to McMinnville. There they purchased a dairy on 3-Mile Lane, now the home of Evergreen Air Museum.
After selling the dairy he was employed at Skyline Corp. and then as farm manager for Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises. In 1986 they moved to West Salem and in 2005, due to his failing health, to NE Salem.
Al was well known for his work ethic and sense of humor. He was a notorious prankster and always had "one more joke!" Al and Donna loved traveling and were able to do so for many years when they would pack their RV and head south for the winter months meeting and making lots of friends along the way. Al never knew a stranger.
Albert is survived by his wife, Donna, of 62 years; Children Alan of Bend, Jerry (Nita) of Salem, and Julie of McMinnville; 9 grandchildren and 8 ½ great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and three sisters Alda Hanson, Aida Barri, and Adelina Griggs.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Salem on Monday, Sept. 3 at 11 am with a rosary prior at 10:30 am. Funeral arrangements are with Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem.
