MCMINNVILLE - Funeral Services for Ezra Earl Kilmer will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Macy & Son. Interment will be in Amity Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Ezra passed away on December 7, 2012 at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Hillside Retirement Center.
Ezra was born in Purcell, Missouri on June 7, 1919 to Amos Henry and Jemima Young Kilmer. He moved to Oregon at the age of 12. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1936 where he met Veda Whitney. They were married on September 28, 1940.
He lived in Ballston for 63 years and moved to McMinnville in 2009. Ezra was the Executive Director of Mid-Valley Rehabilitation for several years and along with Veda and others was instrumental in starting Mid-Valley. He retired in 1986, and continued to serve on the board of directors for several years.
Surviving are his sons, Ivor Leon Kilmer of NV and Gary Dean Kilmer of WV; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Veda Kilmer in 2012; a son John Kilmer; four brothers, Orville Odessa, Stacy Austin, Amos Howard, and Harry Lynn; and a great granddaughter Amanda Skelton.
