Robert "Bob" McCain was born on December 30, 1934 in Kennett, Missouri to Lola and Woodrow McCain. He died tragically in Phoenix, Arizona on February 26, 2013 where he was vacationing with his wife. Bob grew up in Kennett, Missouri and attended Southeast Missouri State College. Bob met his wife Doreen when he was stationed in England while in the service. Doreen immigrated to the United States in order to marry Bob and became a U.S. citizen. Bob and Doreen lived in several places in the Midwest. Bob retired after 34 years with the Sinclair Oil Company. Bob and his wife Doreen then moved to Albany from St. Louis, Missouri in 1999. Bob was an avid Beavers fan and had season tickets for the football games. He enjoyed all sports. He was active in the Senior Center and the YMCA in Albany. Bob and Doreen are famous for their Olde Tyme Kettle Korn and fudge that they made and sold in a number of farmers' markets and other events in the area. Bob faithfully attended Salem Alliance Church, as well as a weekly men's prayer group in Albany. He is survived by his wife, Doreen, of 54 years. He is also survived by his daughters Stacey of Washington state and Laurie of Arizona, as well as three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his brother Jack of Missouri.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the Albany First Assembly of God, 2817 Santiam Highway SE, Albany.
