July 19, 1948 - March 20, 2013

Dave Linn passed away Wednesday morning, March 20th, the first day of Spring, with his wife of 34 years at his side. The second of four children, Dave was born in Dallas, Oregon, to Leslie and Alice Earley Linn on July 19, 1948. He was four months shy of 65 upon his death. Except for a short time in the Pendleton area, Dave was raised in Dallas, graduating from Dallas High School in 1966. He then attended Chemeketa Community College prior to beginning 21 years of service with Caterpillar Industrial Inc. (formerly Towmotor) in the Dallas community, working in Engineering, Inventory Control and Purchasing. Dave served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam era. After the Caterpillar Lift Truck plant was moved to Mexico, Dave continued working in manufacturing environments as a materials Buyer for Stanley Hydraulic Tools, Allied Systems, and Marquis Corporation. Due to health issues he retired in December 2007, after several years with Charter Communications.

Dave was predeceased by both parents, a step-brother, and uncle. Those missing him each and every day are his wife Beverlee, daughter Lori Palmer (Isaac), son Rees Linn (Tami), granddaughters Kelsey and Makena, brothers Richard Linn (Stephanie) and Bill Linn, sister-in-law Beth Linn, sister Mary Linn, brother-in-law Gregg Miller (Mary Ann), nieces Emily, Leslie, Kellie, Crystal, Allie and Layesha, nephews Jerad, Brent, Todd, and Nathaniel, as well as many very close friends and extended family members. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit, keen sense of humor and loving ways.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 1:00 pm in the Trinity Lutheran Church at 320 SE Fir Villa Rd. in Dallas. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. A graveside service with military honors will follow the memorial service in the Dallas Cemetery. To leave on-line condolences and memories go to www.dallastribute.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Dallas Booster Club in care of the mortuary would be appreciated. Dave, both children (Rees 1986 & Lori 2001), and grandchildren (Kelsey 2012 and Makena 2016) have (or will have) graduated from Dallas High School. All were involved in activities supported by the Boosters. Other charities of your choice would also be welcomed and appreciated.

A special word of appreciation to Brookstone Alzheimer Special Care Center in South Salem and Serenity Palliative Care & Hospice for taking such good care of Dave in his final months. Your level of caring and compassion has been unbelievable. You became our second family and helped to create many special memories during a very difficult time that will help us in the days ahead.

To all Dave & Bev's many friends, thank you for your love and support. We couldn't have gotten through this without you.
