Gary Allen Redman

December 12, 1948 - December 5, 2012

SALEM - Gary Allen Redman went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 in Salem, Oregon.

Gary was born in Arizona, the son of Jesse and Cornelia Redman. He was a combat U.S. Army Infantry Soldier in Vietnam, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Vietnam Service Ribbon, the Distinguished Service Medal, and the Purple Heart.

He was a Certified Welder, and a master woodworker, a graduate of B.C.T.I. in computer programming , and graduated from the Oregon Bureau of Police Standards and Training, for his jobs in Public Education Security.

He is survived by sisters Thelma Schavland (Tom) and Maxine Crabb (Aaron); brother Wayne (Donna) and Charles Redman (Ruth Ann), nephew David Schavland (Tracy) of Salem, and eight other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Jesse & Carnelia, sisters Shirley & Evelyn, and in January 2013 joined in death by his older brother Wayne.

At his request, no services will be held. Cremation was provided by Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem. Family and friends will hold a memorial gathering and spreading of his ashes, the last week-end in April.
