Charles "Chuck" Ippolito

KEIZER - Charles Ippolito, 81 of Keizer, Oregon passed away on April 26th, 2013.

Loving husband for 59 years to Josephine Ippolito and devoted father to sons, Thomas of Keizer, OR, and Michael of Sarasota, FL; and daughter, Christine of Vancouver, WA. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Originally from Brooklyn, NY the son of Peter and Antionette Ippolito and one of five brothers, he joined the Marine Corps and fought valiantly in the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he opened grocery stores in the New York area. Honing his expertise in the merchandising of bakery, delicatessen and gourmet food departments in upscale grocery chains, his career spanned four states including California, Alaska, Washington and Oregon. He retired from Unified Grocers in 1994 and settled in the Keizer area.

He will always be remembered for his devotion to his wife, family and country. Services will be held at the Saint Edward Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2nd followed by full military honors at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
