July 16, 1969 - May 4, 2013
SALEM - Brian passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday leaving behind many loved ones and friends. Brian lived all of his life in Oregon and graduated from North Salem High School in 1987. He spent his career working in a field of caring for others, much like how he lived his life. He worked at Fairview Training Center until its closure, and then moved to Central Oregon where he worked at J Bar J Boys Ranch where he counseled young men. He moved back to Salem and began employment at the Oregon State Hospital in 2008 as a Security Transporter where he worked until his untimely death. Brian enjoyed reading, movies and camping. He loved music and attending concerts and had seen some of the greatest bands, often times traveling to Seattle and even British Columbia, Canada.
Brian had a rough and tough persona, but a heart of gold. Brian will be remembered as a man who deeply loved and cared for his family of friends. He was a loyal friend as he set the bar on loyalty and had an enormous heart for those around him. He was a lifelong friend to many and was "Uncle Brian" to their children. Brian could always be counted on for his words of wisdom, his listening ear and great advice. He would go out of his way to help others in their time of need and in fact, did just that for many friends. Brian was truly an honest, considerate, intelligent and caring person and will always be remembered as such.
His family includes: Melody Wilkinson (mom), Stacey Apodaca, Patty Adams(step mom), Jeremy Adams, many nephews and nieces some of which are Summer Dawn Campbell, Julian Apodaca, Marcus Apodaca, Rocky Apodaca, Devan Murfin, Kady Murfin and many other friends and family.
A celebration of Brian's life will take place with details posted on Facebook to follow soon.
We will not dwell on the pain your loss has caused because this isn't goodbye, but instead it is "see you later."
