Gene E. Fluke|

SILVERTON - Gene passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 5th. He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Everett and Marjorie Mae Fluke. He graduated from Bath High School in Bath, SD. Gene enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for two years before his honorable discharge. He married Joanne Irish on May 28, 1956.
Gene was in the plumbing industry for over 55 years. In 1983 Gene and Joanne settled in Silverton. He was a devoted member of the Elks Lodge for 35 years. In his lifetime he had many friends that he enjoyed and loved. He loved fishing and hunting with friends and grandson and was a very proud grandfather attending all of the sports events of his grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his wife Joanne; two daughters Linda Bemis and Leslie Watters; four grandchildren Brian (Melissa) Bemis, Britney Bemis, James Watters, and Megan Watters; and sister Darlys (Ron) Feickert. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Dean and James Fluke.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Youth Fund at the Silverton Elks Lodge.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Silverton Elks Lodge #2210.
