Our beloved mother Nancy W. Carver, daughter of Neil and Marjorie Northrop Witting, was born in Blackduck, MN where she spent her early years with brother Porter. After losing her mother at the age of 12, the family migrated west to Hood River, OR and eventually to Salem where she graduated high school, enrolled in Sacred Heart Nursing School, and began her 35-year nursing career. It was at this time she met and fell in love with Willamette Valley citizen and veteran Ralph L. Carver whom she was happily married to for 55 years until his passing in 2003. Together they raised a close-knit family and spent their entire adult lives in the Salem-Keizer area. Survivors include her daughter Christine of Tucson, AZ, son Mark of Portland; grandchildren Stephanie, Mitchell, Garrett, and Lindsey; great-grandchild Enzo; and the families of sister-in-laws Carline Griesenaur of Brooks, OR and Marjorie Witting of Alexandria, VA. Nancy enjoyed a lifetime passion for reading, gardening, music, sailing and traveling with family and friends, especially to the annual U.S.S. Bush Navy reunions. She liked to describe herself as a "goer and doer" and developed many close friendships while active in Keizer Clear Lake United Methodist Church, the Keizer QT's Red Hats Chapter and the activities at her Emerald Point residence. We are all so blessed to have this loving and compassionate lady in our lives and we will remember her forever. A service and reception will be held on Friday, September 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Keizer Clear Lake United Methodist Church 7920 Wheatland Rd. N., Keizer, OR 97303.
