Barbara Rash STATESVILLE Miss Barbara Ann Rash, 68, of Union Grove, passed away after an extended illness Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. Miss Rash was born Feb. 5, 1944, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Jeff and Mamie Speaks Rash. She was a graduate of Union Grove High School, and prior to her retirement, she was employed with the Iredell Statesville Schools and was a long time farmer. In addition to her parents, Miss Rash was also preceded in death by one brother, Ovadean Rash. She is survived by one brother, Raeford Rash and wife, Dorothy, of Hamptonville; a sister-in-law, Ruth Rash, of Union Grove; a nephew, Bradley Rash and wife, Janice, of Statesville; and a niece, Brenda Rash Blake and husband, Chad, of North Wilkesboro. She is also survived by six great-nephews, two great-nieces and one great-great-nephew. Funeral services for Miss Rash will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Sunday, Sept. 30), in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery.
