Ina Wellman PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. Ina "Missy" Ellis Wellman, was born in Statesville Aug. 20, 1921, and departed this life Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. Ina relocated from North Carolina to Atlantic City, N.J. in 1956. "Missy", as she was affectionately called, worked in the health-care industry most of her life and retired after 30 years as a surgical nurse in the operating room at Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point, N.J. Ina was preceded in death by her three children, son Zack, and daughters, Gladys and Barbara Wellman; one brother, Ray Ellis, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Chalma Wellman and Marion Jeanette Bethea, both of Atlantic City, N.J., Jacqueline Wellman, of Scotts, N.C., and Paula James (Morris), of Piscataway, N.J.; her long-time companion of 56 years, Walter Harrison; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand-daughter; niece, Debbie Ellis-Price; nephew, Ray Ellis, Jr.; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 30, at The New Shiloh Baptist Church, 701 Atlantic Ave., Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Interment was at Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Professional services were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, LLC.
