Lois Nantz STATESVILLE Mrs. Lois Helena Ostwalt Nantz, 88, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Statesville Place. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Perry Mason Ostwalt and Nancy Lippard Ostwalt. Mrs. Nantz was a graduate of Celeste Henkel High School, and on Sept. 8, 1946, she married Charles Dexter Nantz, Jr., who preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1999. She was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church, was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jewel O. Stinison. She is survived by two sons, Chuck Nantz (Maxine), of Statesville, and Darrell Nantz (Sandra), of Troutman; one grandson, Chuck A. Nantz (Leslie), of Statesville; two granddaughters, Angela N. Wigginton (Ty), of Mooresville, and Amanda Nantz, of Greensboro; four great-grandsons, Zackary Charles Nantz, Nicholas James Nantz, Chase Ellis Wigginton and Cannon Drew Wigginton; one great-granddaughter, Laila Faith Wigginton; and sister, Evelyn O. Davidson, of Statesville. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. William Wease officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
