Eddie Lee "Crow" Wright, 62, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away unexpectedly at his residence on June 4, 2014. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Wright and Frankie Mae Cole and was born on March 7, 1952, in St. Augustine. There, he attended St. Johns Public Schools and later served in the United States Army for a short period. Mr. Wright was employed with Desco Boat Yard for many years. He also was employed in various capacities as an auto detailer, fiberglass specialist, lawn maintenance worker and as a handyman. "Crow" had an extreme love for basketball and played for the City Basketball League. He was a member of the team Mean Machine. Eddie was admired for his love and relationship with his grandchildren. He had a tremendous love for people and generously gave of his time. Eddie never met a stranger and had a smile that would light up any room. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Wright and grandparents, Reverend Henry and Dorothea Wright.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Charlene Wright, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; sons, Tomas Wright, Sr. (Paula) of Orlando, Fla.; Kyra Baker of St. Augustine; daughters, Carolyn Early and Amisha Kearse, both of St. Augustine; step-daughter, Theresa Gardner-Williams (Thomas) of Delray Beach, Fla.; a brother, Robert Wright (Katrina) of Stuart, Fla.; grandsons, Gerrod Allen, Jaquan Wright and Tomas Wright, Jr., all of St. Augustine; granddaughters, Jazlynn Baker, Alabama, Shantavia Allen, Deunna Smith, Taliyah McCaskill and Kiara Wright, all of St. Augustine; great-grandson, Geremia Allen of St. Augustine, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many close friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor Willie Lee, officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
