Karen Faye Lawson

Karen Faye Lawson, 54, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2012, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, with her fiancŽ by her side. She was born and raised in Mullens, W. Va, and had moved to Fernandina Beach, Fla., as a young woman. Karen worked as a bartender for many years, most recently in St. Augustine at the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge and at Datil Peppers Lounge. Before relocating to this area in 1999, she had worked at the Palace Saloon, the Aloha and the Corral in Fernandina Beach. Karen was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Above all, she was a caring friend to all she met, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her fiancŽ, John Berger of St. Augustine, and a sister, Debbie Sullivan of Perry, Fla.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Karen"s life at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 13 South Dixie Highway, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
