Mack Schrib, 69, died Nov. 13, 2012, at Flagler Hospital following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Denver, Colo., and grew up in Laramie, Wyo. He earned a bachelor"s degree from the University of Wyoming in electrical engineering and followed a career in electrical engineering for several firms. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his mother, June Schrib, and two nephews. He is survived by two sons, Joe Schrib, Boulder, Colo., Elliot Schrib, New York, N.Y.; the love of his life, Leah Von Leu, Deerfield Beach; and his sister, Jan McIntire, St. Augustine.
Mack had lived with his sister for the last seven years following his retirement and helped care for their mother for the last three years of her life. He had a successful career in his chosen field, raised two wonderful sons, and had many friends who will miss his witticisms, intelligent observations on life, and his generous nature.
Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday Nov. 17, 2012, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
